Why All Women Should Strength Train

Did you know that grip strength is linked with longer lives? And that leg strength is a reliable predictor of physical functionality in your later life? Two pretty solid reasons to start strengthening now. But there are plenty of additional benefits to strength training including:

  • increased bone density

  • increased muscle mass and strength

  • enhanced brain health

  • improved heart health

  • improved lung health

  • increased metabolism

  • improved motor control, posture and balance (decreased risk of falls)

  • protection of your joints and ligaments (decreased risk of injuries)

  • enhanced ability to perform everyday activities

Moreover, lifting weights can lead to enhanced mood, energy and sleep, psychological empowerment and enhanced body image.

It is recommended that women strength train at least two to three times/week to achieve the maximum benefits.

Not sure where to start? I can help! I have enjoyed lifting weights for forty years and would love to help you feel stronger and healthier.
